Memorial Weekend 2008
This year there will a flotilla in each of the fleet areas ..

Long Island: This year the Long Island Sound Fleet will gather at City Island for the Plastick Fantastic Exploding Intergalactic Sound Experience Flotilla for Memorial Day Weekend:

Saturday night -- Theme cocktail party
Sunday afternoon -- Team Kayak Races, the Return of Dingy Bingo, Water Ballet and more ...
Sunday evening -- Flotilla Bar-B-Que Bash!

Ambrose: Ambrose Fleet will host a congregation at lovely Atlantic Highlands, the Gateway to the World, with boats arriving on Friday eve and Saturday.
Pot luck will be served on Saturday evening - raft-up or bring your tasty morsels by dingy, prizes for "best" in various categories. "Lady Yellow Bird" could make a surprising guest appearance.
Sunday's line-up looks to be very exciting and crowd pleasing. The daring can charm the more gentile in various water sports - that would be water skiing and wind surfing. Maybe someone can bring a banana barge or riding tube for those that can't ski, and of course there will be the traditional plunge into the salty brine by all who would venture, as many have in the past.
After all this excitement, dinner will be enjoyed ashore in Atlantic Highlands on Sunday evening. Boats will return to home ports on Monday.

Eastern: Eastern Fleet will be converging at Block Island - the weather will determine either a beach picnic or dinner ashore for the Sunday evening.
