Day or Weekend Sails:

While some of our members can and do sail their boats single handed, its easier and more fun to have crew aboard to help.  Whether its for simple things like casting off from the dock or adjusting the sail trim, or for more complex things like reading the charts or taking the helm - our 30 some captains are often looking for crew on the weekends. 

 

The best way to get to know the various captains (and the other crew) is to come to one of our MONTHLY MEETINGS  With boats in NJ, NY and CT, there is probably someone in your general area looking for some help. 

 

And, as you'll soon learn, KSA wants to give everyone a chance to get out on a boat!  We've always been like that!  So, if you don't own a boat - don't worry.  Come on out, meet our friendly members and we'll make sure that you get to go sailing.

 

If you don't have any experience, we can help out with that too.  Remember, we all had to learn.  With the wealth of knowledge in the club, many of our members offer SAILING 101 through out the year.  Check out the link to find out about the next class (usually in the spring and summer)

 

 

Flotillas:

Bascially, a Flotilla's like a road trip on the water, except a lot more fun!

• You're not confined to your seat, and can often stretch out for an afternoon nap in the sun or maybe even take a dip in the refreshing ocean.
• Getting hungry?  No need to stop at the grungy rest-station - many boats have BBQ and the galley's are bigger (and better stocked) than most NYC kitchens.
• Ever wonder who lives in those huge waterfront homes that you see from the road?  Well, now you can see into their back yards as you sail by - and you'll understand why they've paid millions of dollars to look at all the boats.
• Visit exotic ports of call!  Well, only a few of our members have sailed the ocean's blue, but we usually have our Flotiallas in beautiful achorages - right in our back yard.
• If this itself doesn't sound fun, then you're sure to enjoy the cocktail parties, pot luck dinners, card games, walks on the beach - all with loads of friendly, down to earth Gays and Lesbians who share your interest in sailing.
